War was declared on June 12, 1812. War was declared for a few reasons. The main reason for the declaration vessels at sea and accuse American Sailors of being British "deserters" and force them into the British Navy. of War on the British was, the British impressment of American Sailors. The Britsih would Board American They were basicaly stealing American Sailors for there own use. Also the British refused to give up control of forts in the western United States witched they promised America in the treaty of paris 1783,witch ended the American Revolution.
